Sunflowers #1

I did this 12x12 as my first attempt at painting sunflowers in May of this year. I like the contrast of the blue background with the yellow on the flowers. After I finished this one, I thought it looked a little "Vincent Van Gogh..ish"! Did not intend to, just happened. With us smack dab in the middle of summer.. sunshine and heat, sunflowers seem to be appropriate at this time. We are in the middle of days and days of 100plus degree temperatures here in Oklahoma and little rain. Hope the sunflowers will survive!
