Lighthouse # 3

A 16x20, Oil. My third attempt at a lighthouse. I decided to do the trees a little more realistic this time. Used darker blues and lavenders for a more dramatic look. Had fun with it. Thanks for looking.

Lighthouse # 2

A 16x20, Oil. Another Lighthouse with a colorful sunset over the ocean. Can't resist these bright sunset colors! Living here in Oklahoma...I sometimes wish for a seaside life. The wonderful feel and sounds. I'm having fun painting that kind of life! God Bless.

Ephesians 6:10
"Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power."

Lighthouse by the Sea

A 16x20, Oil I finished yesterday. Messed with this one for a few days. I was having a hard time getting that little gnarled tree to show up against the rocks and surrounding ground. I just love the look of these hardy seaside trees with their twisted limbs. I am doing a 2nd 16x20 with a different lighthouse composition. I'm going to try for a loose style this time. We'll see what happens. Thank you for looking.

The Angel Of Peace

A 16x20, Oil I just finished today. The fourth in my Angel Series. I primed the canvas first with color, then painted this simple more abstract rendition of an Angel. Fun to do. I am planning on continuing with this series. We'll see what I come up with next! Thanks for looking.

14 Hours On A John Deere Tractor

A 16x 20 I finished today while painting with my Artist Buddies! Wanted to get that wide open space we have here in Oklahoma. Dramatic sky and the red colored soil. I will give credit for the title to my husband. He tells me it is the title of an old country song he remembers. I like it! I know our farmers put in those long days like that and often times on one of these John Deere Green tractors with the dust kicking up behind them. God Bless them! This was a fun one to do. Thank you for looking.

"Wait For It...."

A 16x20 Oil on stretched canvas I just finished today. Whew! These larger pieces take alot of paint and time! I asked my son and husband to assist in coming up with a title for this one. "Wait For It...." seemed to say it all. The poor guy is being patient, wanting to go plunge into that water and go for those ducks! This is a larger version of a previous smaller painting I did earlier this year. Fun to do. I think I will start doing more  duplicates/multiples in the future. It's a good way to learn different techniques, coloring and composition. Thank you for looking.

A Storm is Coming

A 16x20 oil I finished today. Whew, it has been a long week at work and this is the first chance I have had to relax and paint. Yea!!! Here in Oklahoma we have this weird greenish light that comes along just before a storm. I have been wanting to try and capture that light in a painting for a long time. This is my first attempt. I am happy with it. Do you see that greenish tinge to the left side of the sky? Also in those minutes before a storm breaks loose, you see a brightness to the yellow fields that is just fantastic. Great contrast. Hope all is well with everyone.

Revelation 21:4
"He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things will have passed away."

Birthday Bouquet

A 16x20  I finished this morning entitled Birthday Bouquet. My son, Charles always sends me a bouquet of flowers for my birthday. I decided to do a painting of this year's bouquet. I tried to capture the full, wild look of this colorful fall arrangement. It sat on our round dining room table and I like the few dropped petals and leaves against the wood.  This is a bigger canvas for me. Have not done one this big in a while. Lended to a loose broad style. I like it!

Mango...Mango...Mango

A 16x20 oil that I completed for a challenge by Daily Paintworks. The challenge was to divide a canvas in individual squares. Paint the same object in each square. Limiting your time to paint to 10 minutes a square. I changed the drape color for each mango square. Did it randomly. Then just started to paint! Listened to the timer go in the background. The loud DING startling me every time! I have it framed in a dark cherry wood contemporary frame. It makes the color in this painting pop! This one was fun to do. Thank you for looking!

James 1:22-25
"Do not merely read the Bible, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says...Whoever looks intently into the Bible that gives freedom, and continues in it - not forgetting what they have read, but doing it - they will be blessed in what they do."

Horse of a Different Color

This one was really fun to do. Did it with a 2 inch brush and played with the color. The big brush encouraged a loose look.  I had pink, blue and green paint everywhere! These pretty colors showed up in the most unexpected places!  I took this one to the Festival of Arts show this year and you would not believe the number of little girls that gravitated to my pink horse! It was sweet. Would look great in some little girl's room!
